Navigating Open-Source Datasets: A Key Skill for Tomorrow's Supply Chain Leaders

Catalog: Webinar
Short name: Navigating Open-Source Datasets: A Key Skill for Tomorrow's Supply Chain Leaders

Description

In this session, we’ll explore how free, open-source big datasets can empower supply chain professionals to develop critical business and analytics skills, providing a competitive advantage in an industry that’s increasingly seeking data-savvy talent — a market expected to grow by 36% by 2033.

We’ll dive into accessible data sources like Data.gov, Kaggle, and Open Supply Hub, and showcase how tools such as Python, Plotly, and Dash can turn raw data from the DataCo Global supply chain dataset (comprising 180,519 rows and 53 columns) into valuable, actionable insights. This webinar will cover key topics like selecting high-quality datasets, dealing with common data challenges such as missing values and encoding, and using data cleaning, analysis, and visualization techniques to build a standout portfolio.

We’ll also offer a sneak peek at automating workflows and creating eye-catching dashboards that can impress future employers. Additionally, the presenter will share tips on how to generate your own large, realistic datasets using mock data. This session is designed to help professionals showcase their problem-solving abilities and stand out in the data-driven job market.
