Description
Today’s supply chains are awash with data and information from various sources, and it is only going to get worse as the flood of data from the IoT turns into an information tsunami. This presentation focuses on the use of the digitally enhanced Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model at Ericsson, the United States Air Force, and Radio Frequency Systems. It shows how the ASCM enterprise models are used to move to a pull-mode of data consumption, and shows how common definitions creates aligned vocabularies and relationships around the data exchange, thus providing the breakthrough we need to have a “clean” data flow. This in turn drives meaningful advanced analytics, business operations, process efficiencies, and corrective actions in a cost-effective way. The effect of the move from paper to digitized data will be discussed, and we will show what can realistically be done to support a supply network with a mix of emerging and mature IT practices. Presented at the 2019 ASCM Conference--Las Vegas, Nevada.
