Description
Moving hazardous materials through the supply chain is a responsibility shared by everyone involved. It requires not only an understanding of the requirements, but also an appreciation as to why compliance plays such an important role in the safety of our supply chains. As the movement of dangerous goods can be a key variable in an organization’s business, the need for qualified individuals with knowledge in transporting hazardous materials can be essential to success. This presentation is for those who may have no knowledge of dangerous goods logistics, and who want to become more informed on this issue. Topics covered include the ever-changing regulations on the transportation of lithium batteries; new technologies that drive safety and compliance while mitigating risk; and the legal requirements of training required of both shippers and carriers involved in the transport of dangerous goods. Presented at the 2019 ASCM Conference--Las Vegas, Nevada.
